In Celebration Of A Birthday And Special Journey

Jessica Golden and her father, Carl Golden, are celebrating her birthday as a special journey. Jessica is leaving the realms of being a teenager and is going into the word of grown-ups.

Born in 1997, Jessica was brought to the United States when she was only 13 months old. Her parents traveled around the world to a place called Maoming, China, where they adopted her. All her life before her adoption, she’d been living in a state-administered orphanage with many other children, all female, who were abandoned.

Golden describes the event of when he and his wife first met their daughter: “Wearing an oversized t-shirt and a diaper, she was handed by an orphanage matron to an anxious and teary-eyed adoptive mother.”

Since then, Jessica has been the light in the lives of her family.

Caroline is currently working for Elevati/Adoption.com as an intern--she loves it! She is a poor college student who is studying English and hopes to go on to wear the master's cap someday. You can find Caroline gallivanting around the European countryside or hoofing it in the mountains. Chocolate in any form instantly wins her friendship, and she is not afraid to geek out over the Lord of the Rings or Star Wars films.
