Selfishness Is Not Part Of Adoption

Selfishness cannot be a part of a healthy adoption.

“Birth parents gave selflessly,” writes adoptive mom Rachel Galbraith, “Adoptive parents need to be able to do the same.”

Most people understand the depth of the sacrifice a birth mother has made in choosing to place her child with another family to be raised. Once that sacrifice has been made, it is now the adoptive parent’s responsibility to be selfless – to put the child’s needs above their own.

This isn’t always easy, but it is essential.
