Mom’s Heartbreaking Post Urges Parents To Teach Their Kids About Differences

Learning how to respectful approach those with obvious differences is an essential lesson for every child, and adoptive mom Stacey Gagnon is urging parents to make a greater effort to teach their kids about how to do so with grace and compassion.

She recently shared a story on Facebook that struck a chord and gained much attention.

Her family was attending a new church, and the time came for her son, Joel, to meet his new group of peers. Joel was born with a cranio-facial impairment that makes him look a little different, but Gagnon was dismayed at the response he received when they walked into the room.

“I stood at the door,” she shared, “and watched every child look with eyes wide and mouths open at my child.”
