Carlie is a 12-year-old girl who describes herself as “funny, awesome, fun, happy all the time, colorful, and nice.”
Carlie was originally placed in foster care at a young age. Her foster family adopted her, but after struggling to meet her needs adequately, they made the decision to reverse the adoption and surrender her back into the care of the state. This has been difficult for Carlie, who says she “really misses” her family. To process her challenges, Carlie has spent a lot of time drawing, painting, and writing, says her adoption worker.
What is she looking for in a family? She wants a family that with whom she can “go out and have some fun.” And she wants parents who can “take care of you when you’re not feeling good.”
