Man Learns His Birth Father Was A World Series Champion

Every adopted kid (in a closed adoption) fantasizes about their birth father and mother. They wonder if they’re a famous actress or singer or athlete. They look at the cashier in the store and wonder if they have the same nose. They look into the faces of people they pass on the street and silently inquire, “Are you the one?”

When Bruce Beyer, age 68, submitted a DNA test to Ancestry.com, he never dreamed that his birth father would actually BE a famous athlete. But it was true. His birth father had played in the world series.

“Mine is an American story about love, history, and politics,” Beyer told USA Today.
