“We’re Privileged To Take Care of Someone Else’s Child”

When Shaun Lokey approached his wife about adopting a child, she said she didn’t think it was the best idea. She was worried she wasn’t a good enough mother to the three children they already had. Was she equipped to care for another child?

Ultimately, though, they decided to take the plunge. “I told her it’s not about being a perfect parent,” recalled Shaun. “It’s about being available and participating in their lives.”

Seven years – and three adopted children – later, they know they made the right choice.
