Adoption: It’s A “God Thing”

Olaf and Linda tried for years to conceive children. Now they’re the parents of two children by adoption. These adoptions are both open adoptions. And the family says their story is pretty much “a God thing.”

After 11 years of trying to have biological children, Olaf and Linda turned their hearts to God. That’s when they say their story became a God thing.

They were matched with an expectant mother that wanted an open adoption. At first they were hesitant, but when they realized all the love and family they and their daughter would get from an open adoption, their minds were changed for the better.

The family has one daughter and one son that are both in open adoptions. Though the relationships are not always easy, they are happy that they all have so much family because of the openness. The family said, “We started wondering if we could ever have a family, and now we have an extended family larger than would’ve ever been possible if we’d had our own biological children.”
