Christina was abandoned in a subway station in Seoul, South Korea when she was just an infant. That experience has left its indelible mark on her heart. She writes that because of that experience, “I struggle often with recognizing my value and my worth in this world.”
She continues, “I have often wondered about the people who saw me and heart my cries, but chose to do nothing.” So in this letter, she explores that perspective – the thoughts of feelings of a person who saw her, an abandoned baby crying for her mother, and instead of helping, walked away.
This letter is a powerful reminder to all of us who are witnesses to the children living in orphanages or in foster care who need our love, our compassion, and our willingness to step out of our comfort zones.
