Ohio Couple Becomes First-Time Parents When They Adopt 5 Siblings

When Julie and Will Rom of Cincinnati, Ohio, were unable to conceive, they decided that they were meant to do something a little different with their lives. They decided to become foster parents and provide love and stability to children while they waited to be reunited with their biological families.

They’ve been doing just that for the past ten years, and recently the opportunity came up for them to adopt five siblings who have come into their home over the past several years. Will (12), Truth (9), Marianna (6), Keyora (3), and KJ (2) were excited to be making their family situation official and permanent. “We’ve always said that when we had children come into our home, we would never have them uprooted another time If the opportunity came along, that we would just keep them,” said Julie.

“I am excited and happy for the Rom family and their future together. They changed 5 siblings’ lives forever by adopting them into a safe, loving, and caring family,” said Ralph Winkler, the judge who finalized the adoption. “My greatest hope is that the Rom’s 5 adoptions will encourage more and more good people to adopt children.”
