3 Things I Do Not Love About Being A Foster Parent

Being a foster parent is no easy task and Christy from A Fostered Life is here to give it to you straight. There’s power in going to the unknown as informed as you possibly can.

As a foster parent, Christy says the following are three things she does not love about foster care.

  1. There are a lot of things you won’t get to know, like many parts of a child’s background.
  2. There is a lot of paperwork involved when you’re involved in foster care.
  3. Being a foster parent is a roller coaster of emotions.

Notice that Christy did not say that these three things are things that she hates about foster care. They are just the more boring, difficult, and challenging parts about being a foster parent.

“None of these are reasons not to do it; I’m just trying to help you go into it a little more informed,” said Christy.

That is exactly the point she is trying to get across throughout the video. In all parts of life there are things that you won’t enjoy doing, but that doesn’t keep you from doing them. Being a foster parent has it’s many good parts (check this video out to see what else Christy has to say about this special calling).
