Elijah Thomas was adopted as a baby. His adoption was a closed one, but when he turned 18, he reached out and reconnected with his birth mother. This actually opened up more questions for Elijah, spurring him to try to connect with his biological father. His adoptive parents and his birth mother both thought it was a bad idea.
But Elijah decided to go for it anyway. He and his best friend found his biological father online and flew to Atlanta, Georgia, where he was pretty sure his dad lived. Then, without trying to contact him first, Elijah knocked on his birth dad’s door.
