Ozarks families encourage special needs adoption

The touching story of three families in the Ozarks and how they came together to celebrate the 4th of July with their big family while encouraging special needs adoptions.

Three Ozarks families came together to celebrate the 4th in a big way, with their big families.

The parents have one thing in common: they’re passionate about adopting children with challenges of all kinds.

“You know. It’s amazing what love does,” Jan Longenecker said.

Two of Jan and her husband Mark’s nine kids have special needs and they’re about to add two more.

“Once you’ve stepped foot into an orphanage or once you’ve stepped into a maternity ward of unwanted children, you can’t ever pretend that you don’t know that,” Longenecker said.
