Love Not DNA

There are a lot of things that DNA consists of, but parenthood doesn’t require it. Love is really all that is needed to be a parent. Love and commitment to raise and provide for a child doesn’t come ingrained in our genes, therefore being biologically connected to another person doesn’t need to be present in order to be a great parent. I have friends that I consider family. They have been there for me through thick and thin.  When I married my husband, the love I have for him knew no biological tie. His family welcomed me into their family. The bond you can have with a child that isn’t genetically your own is the same.

What’s in DNA?
