‘Long Lost Family’ Show Saves Adoptee’s Life

Long Lost Family is a show from TLC that’s purpose is to reunite adoptees and birth family. The show appears widely successful and has helped many involved in adoption reunite. And for one man, his reunion alerted him to an emergency heart surgery.

Simon Day was placed as an infant in a closed adoption. He had no access to his medical records as a result. Although he was aware that he had some heart problems, and was on medication for it, he had no idea of the severity. Upon the reunion, his birth family urged him to see a doctor.

Day ended up needing an emergency heart bypass surgery. He thanks his birth family for saving his life.
