Judge Thomas has served as the Juvenile Court Judge for Douglas County, Nebraska since September of 1995, and is a member of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Courts' Permanency Planning for Children Advisory Committee. His legal career has had an emphasis on child welfare and youth violence prevention. In his 15 years as a judge, he has spent the last 4 1/2 years handling domestic relations matters, as well as issues of neglect, abuse, and dependency cases.
