Michelle Madrid-Branch is an adoptee who braved the perils of adoption reunion and sought after her adoption truths. Over time, she has come to learn more about her heritage and where she came from – and this knowledge is invaluable.

However, she writes, “Beyond the bounds of birth heritage and birth history, I have come to learn a deeper sense of identity. One that has been, on many levels, unexpected: my nationality — over and above all else — is adoption.”
